Term 2 - Lots of fun!

Term 2 has been very exciting. Saturday mosaics has grown from strength to strength, attracting people from far and wide.

We are meeting many amazing people who often blow us away with their creative ideas. The act of creating in itself is highly therapeutic, and people are reconnecting with themselves and others. We have had grandparents bring along their grandchildren and parents their children and teens. Always very enjoyable for all and usually no one wants to go home!!!

Now, as well as Mosaics and painting Serenity Stones, we are playing with painting feathers too.

The children’s after school group, Empowering Children and Raising Self Esteem through Creative Expression & Art Therapy, (Thursdays 3.45pm-4.45pm), has had some fabulous results. Everyone is really excited about the many forms of creativity we have tried. This term so far we have done mosaics and grouting, drawing and painting, and painting stones. Painting always seems to be a favourite. A couple of weeks ago we had a profound experience . . .

A VERY amazing day at my after school group. Becky, who has autism, interacted with 2 lovely friends in a very powerful way. The creativity was awesome and then at the end it was so joyful to observe their engagement. Playing, running, planning a disco and holding hands. No one wanted to go home. Feeling very privileged to share these special moments. On the way home, her Mum told me, she sang the chorus of a cartoon monster song she knows from Youtube "We're Yellow, Pink, Green and Blue, but deep inside we’re just like you”. Her Mum said she just managed to hold it together while driving. I am still buzzing!

Also, we are now offering Children’s Creative Birthday Parties. We can have a couple of hours of creative amazingness,

with choices including - Mosaics, Painting Stones, or Painting, followed by food and cake. Mum provides food and cake.

Venue is very child friendly, fenced and safe with a swing outside, and a kitchen too.

We do have a space for a party July 8th from 1.30pm.

Another AWESOME event this term has been us taking our Artsoup Art Therapy into schools. We have been working in Red Beach School and are about to start in Gulf Harbour School - Empowering Children through Creative Expression.

Very exciting and we are constantly blown away with the results. We welcome interest and questions from other schools.

It is SO rewarding to share our passion to enhance lives and make a difference.
